Saint-Vincent-de-Paul is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Laluque in the north, Pontonx-sur-l'Adour in the east and northeast, Téthieu in the east, Candresse in the south, Yzosse in the southwest, and Saint-Paul-lès-Dax in the west Southwest and Gourbera in the northwest.

Until 1828 the place was called Pouy . Then it was renamed after the saint who was born here.
