Cauneille ( Occitan Caunelha ) is a French municipality with 799 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of land in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Aquitaine ) in southwestern France. It belongs to the Arrondissement of Dax and the canton of Orthe et Arrigans (until 2015 Peyrehorade ). The inhabitants are called Cauneillais .

geography

Cauneille is located on the Gave de Pau River , about 32 kilometers east-northeast of Bayonne and about 18 kilometers south of Dax . Neighboring communities are Cagnotte in the north, Pouillon in the east and northeast, Labatut in the east, Sorde-l'Abbaye in the south, Oeyregave in the southwest and Peyrehorade in the west.
