Bénesse-Maremne ( Occitan : Benessa de Maremne ) is a French municipality with 3234 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of land in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Bénesse-Maremne belongs to the Arrondissement Dax and the canton Pays Tyrossais (until 2015: canton Saint-Vincent-de-Tyrosse ). The inhabitants are called Bénessois (es) .
geography
The community is located near the Atlantic coast . Bénesse-Maremne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Angresse in the north, Saint-Vincent-de-Tyrosse in the east and northeast, Saubrigues in the southeast, Orx in the south, Labenne in the southwest and Capbreton in the west.
The A63 autoroute and the former Route nationale 10 (today's D810) run through the municipality . The station is on the Bordeaux – Irun railway line .
