Pomarez ( Occitan : Pomares ) is a French commune in the department of land in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality is located in the south of the department and has 1,550 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) and belongs to the canton of Coteau de Chalosse (until 2015: canton of Amou ) within the arrondissement of Dax .
geography
Pomarez is about 15 kilometers southeast of Dax . The Luy limits the community in the northeast. Pomarez is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Castelnau-Chalosse in the north, Donzacq in the northeast, Castel-Sarrazin in the east, Tilh in the south, Mouscardès in the southwest, Estibeaux in the west and southwest and Clermont and Ozourt in the northwest.
