Saint Martin Church

Came ( Basque Akamarre , Gascon Camer ) is a French municipality with 978 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Bayonne arrondissement and the canton of Pays de Bidache, Amikuze et Ostibarre (until 2015: canton of Bidache ). The inhabitants are called Camòts .

geography

Came is located about 25 kilometers east of Bayonne on the Bidouze . Came is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Hastingues in the north and northwest, Oeyregave in the north, Sorde-l'Abbaye in the northeast, Léren in the east and northeast, Saint-Pé-de-Léren and Labastide-Villefranche in the east, Arancou in the southeast, Arraute- Charritte in the south and Bidache in the west.
