Bassussarry ( Basque Basusarri ) is a French municipality with 3,126 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Aquitaine ). Bassussarry belongs to the Arrondissement of Bayonne and the canton of Ustaritz-Vallées de Nive et Nivelle (until 2015 Ustaritz ). The inhabitants are called Basusartar .
geography
Bassussarry is located about five kilometers south-southwest of Bayonne in the French Basque Country on the River Nive . Bassussarry is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Anglet in the north and north-west, Bayonne in the north and north-east, Villefranque in the east and Arcangues in the south and west.
The former route nationale 132 (today's D932) runs through the municipality .
