Isturits Town Hall

Isturits ( Basque : Izturitze ) is a French municipality with 518 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Bayonne and the canton of Pays de Bidache, Amikuze et Ostibarre (until 2015: canton of La Bastide-Clairence ). The inhabitants are called (Basque) Izturiar .

geography

The municipality is located in the French Basque Country on the Arbéroue River . Isturits is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ayherre in the north and west, Orègue in the east and northeast, Saint-Martin-d'Arberoue in the south and southeast and Saint-Esteben in the south and southwest.
