The workers gymnastics and sports club Stadl-Paura is a football club from the municipality of Stadl-Paura in Upper Austria . The club has been playing in the third highest performance level, the Regionalliga Mitte , since the 2015/16 season .
history
The ATSV Stadl-Paura was founded in 1952. For a long time the club played under-class. After initially playing in the fifth-class regional league West , you had to relegate to the regional league south in the 2006/07 season . In the 2010/11 season you could become champions of that league and thus rise again to the Landesliga West. In the 2013/14 season you could climb up as a champion of the Landesliga West in the Landesliga Oberösterreich . After only one season you rose as champions of the regional league in the third-class regional league middle . The club from Stadl-Paura finished their debut season in the regional league in seventh place, and they also took part in the ÖFB Cup , where they failed in the first round at WSG Wattens . In the following year they were also eliminated in the first round, this time they just lost to the second division club FC Blau-Weiß Linz .
The club's rise is directly linked to Christian Mayrleb , who switched from FC Pasching to Stadl-Paura as a player in June 2011 . On July 1, 2012, he took over the sporting management and on October 31 of the same year he took over the role of player-coach, which is why he only helped out in the second team from summer 2013. In the era of the former national player, the championship titles of the Landesliga West (fifth league) and the Landesliga Oberösterreich (fourth league) and the associated promotion to the Regional League Middle fell. After the end of the autumn championship in 2016 Mayrleb left the club for financial reasons - Mayrleb's goal was promotion to the first division and a million euros that sponsors had originally promised was missing - and switched to ASKÖ Oedt , where he worked with Florin Anitoui, Sorin Ciobanu and Bojan Musteci also “took away” three regular players.
Coincidence would have it that ATSV Stadl-Paura had to compete in the 2017/18 ÖFB Cup with the Upper Austrian cup winner ASKÖ Oedt and suffered a 1: 3 (0: 1) defeat in the team coached by Mayrleb.
On July 1, 2017, based on the SC Wiener Neustadt, the name of the stadium for the 2017/18 season was raffled, which transformed the previous Maximilian Pagl Stadium into the “Molto Luce Arena”. A total of 20 lots were sold.
