history
Early years
A sports field was opened in Kalsdorf as early as 1938, but the Kalsdorf sports club was only founded after the Second World War. The founding meeting was held on May 26, 1946 in a private apartment, the first provisional chairman was A. Zepic. The newly founded club played its first game against a military team from the British occupation forces. Dress and sports shoes were provided by the British.
After the first ordinary general meeting on January 26, 1947, registration was made with the Styrian Football Association (StFV), the first ordinary chairman was H. Schusterbauer, and a ten-person committee was appointed. From now on the club took part in the championship of the StFV.
SC Lapp-Finze, rise and fall
In 1950 the name of the club was changed to SC Lapp-Finze , and in 1952 a reform of the class division resulted in promotion to 2nd class. The first sports home was built independently and opened on September 6, 1953. In 1953 the first championship win in 3rd class could be celebrated, in 1954 another name change to WSV Lapp-Finze took place . In 1955 the championship could be won in the 2nd class, in 1958 in the 1st class.
For the now reached Unterliga Süd, a suitable sports field, the dimensions of which correspond to international standards, had to be built. The opening took place in 1960, in the same year the first promotion to the Styrian regional league , in which the club played for two years, could be fixed. After relegation in 1962, it took until 1971 before the ascent was successful. Two more years later, the first promotion to the Regionalliga Mitte, the second highest Austrian performance class at the time, was celebrated.
Due to the league reform of the ÖFB in 1974 and the associated dissolution of the Regionalliga Mitte, the way to the regional league had to be started, in 1975 they relegated to the Graz-Süd-West regional league, one year later to the 1st class, another year later to the 2nd class.
Renaming and athletic resurgence
In 1981 it was renamed Sportclub Kalsdorf . The following twelve years were characterized by several changes between 2nd and 1st class, from 1993 the team slowly fought its way up again. 1993 promotion to the lower league middle-west, one year later promotion to the upper league middle, 2002 in the Styrian regional league.
In the 2003/04 season, Kalsdorf played a season in the Regionalliga Mitte again after 29 years. The league could not be held, however, so eight more years followed in the regional league, until 2012 the promotion to the regional league and 2013 relegation could be achieved.
sport Center
The new sports center was opened on September 9, 2007, replacing the old cabin and shower building from the 1950s. The opening game against SV Wildon was lost 3-0.
