The Union Sportverein Raiffeisenbank Weindorf St. Anna am Aigen is a football club from the Styrian municipality of Sankt Anna am Aigen in the district of Southeast Styria . The club belongs to the Styrian Football Association (STFV) and has been playing in the third highest performance level, the Regionalliga Mitte , since the 2019/20 season .

history

The USV St. Anna was founded in 1974. The first 30 years in the Styrian lower house were spent without any notable success. In the 2004/05 season they finished fifth in the sixth class sub - league south . The 2005/06 season ended in third place, St. Anna was ten points short of master SU Straden . In the 2006/07 season they could improve again, this time they finished the season as runner-up with four points behind the champions USV Hof . In the 2007/08 season you could finally rise as champions of the lower league south in the fifth-class league , you had a lead of three points on runner-up USV Siebing .

The first season in the Oberliga Süd / Ost ended as twelfth of 14 clubs. In the 2009/10 season you could improve to ninth place in the table. In the 2010/11 season they improved again and finished seventh at the end of the season. The 2011/12 season ended as the penultimate, on the bottom of the table SU Straden they had nine points ahead. The worst league season so far was followed by the best in 2012/13: behind USV Gnas and USV Mettersdorf they finished third in the table at the end of the season.

In the 2013/14 season they were five points ahead of Mettersdorf champions of the Oberliga Süd / Ost and thus rose to the fourth-class regional league . In the debut season in the national league they finished tenth. The 2015/16 season ended two points behind FC Gleisdorf 09 as runner-up. In the 2016/17 season they finished third , and St. Anna was seven points short of master TuS Bad Gleichenberg . The 2017/18 season ended a second time as runner-up, six points are missing on the Grazer AK .

In the 2018/19 season they were finally able to become champions of the regional league with a lead of twelve points over Gnas and thus advance to the regional league. In the 2019/20 season, they took part in the ÖFB Cup for the first time, where they defeated league rivals SC Kalsdorf 1-0 in the first round .
