Michael Tieber (born September 4, 1988 in Weiz ) is an Austrian football player on the position of a striker .
Career
Career start in Weiz and Graz
While the first combat team of SC Weiz was just getting started in the fifth-class Oberliga Nord, Michi Tieber began his active career as a football player in the offspring of his home club in 1994. When the men's team of the club began to see true elevator years, as the team rose to the Styrian regional league, but often fell back to fifth division shortly afterwards, Tieber went through various youth division until 2004. From 2003 he was handed over to the cooperation association in Graz , the Grazer AK , in their youth department. He quickly established himself with the Grazers and was integrated into the club's offspring from the following year.
Between national league and regional league
In the 2006/07 season still active in the U-19 team with games in the U-19 youth league sponsored by Toto , at the same time she was accepted into the squad of amateurs of the GAK, who also played their games in the Styrian regional league . So he came in his first season with the amateurs on a total of 20 championship appearances in which he could only score one goal. After the financial and sporting descent of the former soccer champions of the 2003/04 season and the resulting forced relegation to the third-rate regional league center , one of three parallel seasons, Tieber was called up to the first combat team of the GAK.
He made his league and team debut on August 9, 2007 in the "small derby" against the amateurs of SK Sturm Graz , which he lost with his team after a direct free kick from Daniel Beichler with 0: 1. In the game he replaced Georg Grasser from the second half of the game . Tieber scored his first regional league goal on shortly after his 19th birthday when he scored the 5-1 final score in a 5-1 away win over SVG Bleiburg . Michi Tieber met twice for the first time on November 2, 2007 in a 3-0 away win over SV Gmunden , where he was on the pitch for the first time from the start. He had a winning streak between the 21st and 26th round, when he contributed one goal for his team in every six games. In addition to the 24 appearances and nine goals in the Regionalliga Mitte, the young attacking player also made 14 games and five goals for the national league team.
The 2008/09 season was just as successful for the 1.75 m tall striker as the previous season. He scored eight league goals in 21 championship appearances and was also in action in the 2008/09 ÖFB Cup , where the team was eliminated 1: 2 in the first round against SCR Altach . Michi Tieber was also used in the regional league, even if only sporadically. In total, he completed three national league games in 2008/09, in which he met twice. After an exciting season final spurt in which, in addition to the Grazer AK, TSV Hartberg was also able to rise as champions in the second-class first league , the final championship round decided on promotion or staying in the regional league.
After GAK defeated FC Blau-Weiß Linz 1: 2 and the door to promotion was wide open, TSV Hartberg finished SAK Klagenfurt 6: 0 in a home game and won the championship. Despite the same number of points, the Hartberger had a goal difference two goals better and so rose to the second division. Only shortly afterwards the media reported about possible match fixing, with a public prosecutor even being involved.
Having once again got into financial difficulties after remaining in the regional league, Michi Tieber made 15 league appearances and four goals for the first team of the GAK in the fall season 2009/10 . As in previous years, Tieber was also part of the national league team during the 2009/10 season, where he made five league games in which he scored one goal. In November 2009, Tieber decided to leave the Graz AK, which was again in danger of bankruptcy, and at the same time was brought into contact with the Regionalliga-Mitte-promoted TSV Hartberg.
Change to Kapfenberger SV
After he had been in Kapfenberg since mid / end of November 2009 and trained there with the professional team with games in the Austrian Bundesliga, after more than a month he signed a professional contract with a term of one and a half years, with Tieber having an option for two more years . At Kapfenberger SV he finally made his professional debut on March 19, 2010 when he came into play for Thomas Schönberger from the second half in the 2-3 home defeat against the promoted team from the second highest Austrian soccer league, SC Magna Wiener Neustadt , was cautioned with a yellow card in the 64th minute of the game and in minute 68 practically prepared the preparatory work for Patrik Siegl's goal to make it 2-2 by being fouled in the penalty area and Siegl converted the penalty.
In an interview at the beginning of January 2010, Michi Tieber spoke about the fact that he first wanted to gain more experience in the national league team of Kapfenberger SV and that he was still fixated on collecting as many Bundesliga minutes as possible.
Change to SC Wiener Neustadt
After the successful season in Kalsdorf, Michael Tieber switched to the Bundesliga for SC Wiener Neustadt in June 2014. Under coach Heimo Pfeifenberger, he made his first appearance on the first day of the match. He was substituted on against SV Ried in the closing stages. His starting line-up debut came in the following round against RB Salzburg, where he played for 90 minutes. The Oststeirer scored his first competitive goal in the round of 16 of the ÖFB Cup on October 28, 2014 in Wolfsberg against the WAC. The striker used a header from Dennis Mimm to make it 2-2. A week later, his first Bundesliga goal for SC Wiener Neustadt followed. In the game against SV Grödig, he converted a stabber to 2: 4 final score. With the Lower Austrians, he had to relegate from the Bundesliga at the end of the season.
Return to Styria
After his club was relegated, Tieber moved to the regional league club SV Lafnitz for the 2015/16 season . In the 2017/18 season he was able to become champions of the Middle Regional League with Lafnitz and move up to the 2nd division.
