The Kapfenberger SV II is the second team of the Austrian second division club Kapfenberger SV . The team has been playing in the Oberliga Nord, the fifth-highest division, since the 2018/19 season.

history

The Kapfenberg amateurs became champions of the Oberliga Nord in the 2006/07 season and were promoted to the state league . In the debut season in the regional league, the Styrians took 14th place and had a lead of three points on the relegation ranks. Relegation was only fixed on the last day of the match with a 4-1 win against Großklein. In the 2008/09 season, the team finished twelfth. In the 2009/10 season the Kapfenberger were runner-up with a gap of two points on SV Gleinstätten . In the 2010/11 season part in the ÖFB Cup , after having clearly prevailed in the preliminary round against league rivals SVL Flavia Solva . In the first round they defeated the regional league team LASK II , in the second round they finally lost to the Bundesliga club FK Austria Wien . In that season they became champions in the regional league and thus rose to the regional league middle for the first time .

In the 2011/12 season they qualified for the cup again after beating ASK Voitsberg , but this time they failed in the first round at Bundesliga club SV Mattersburg . In the first season in the regional league they finished eleventh at the end of the season - the best position in the team's history to this day. They were four points ahead of the relegation ranks. The Jungfalken finished the 2012/13 season in 14th place, which should actually have meant relegation to the state league. However, the league competitor FC Gratkorn went bankrupt, whereby the KSV Amateurs kept the class. In the 2013/14 season you finally had to return to the state league after three seasons as bottom of the table, two points were missing on the non-relegation places. Back in the fourth division, the KSV Amateurs took eighth place in the table in the 2014/15 season. The 2015/16 season ended in 13th place. In the 2016/17 season they finished 13th again, and they only had a one-point advantage over the relegation place. Relegation was only fixed in the last game of the season with a goal by Daniel Fischer against DSV Leoben in the 90 + 2. Minute to the 1-0 final score. In the 2017/18 season they were finally knocked off last in the regional league, ten points were missing from the relegation place. As a result, you had to relegate to the Oberliga Nord after ten years.

In the 2018/19 season they finished seventh in the fifth-highest division. In the 2019/20 season they ranked tenth after the first half of the season, but the season was canceled after the first half due to the COVID-19 pandemic .
