René Swete (born June 1, 1990 ) is an Austrian football goalkeeper .

Career

Swete began his career in Vienna - favorites at KSV Ankerbrot Montelaa . After playing for the Favoritner AC and FC Wien , he switched to AKA Rapid Wien in 2004 . In 2007 he returned to the Favoritner AC. After being active for SVg Guntramsdorf and 1. Simmeringer SC , he moved to Floridsdorfer AC in 2013 . After promotion and relegation, he moved to the first division club SV Grödig . After Grödig retired from professional football, he left the club in summer 2016.

In January 2017 he moved to the regional division TSV Hartberg . With the Hartbergers he was able to advance to professional football at the end of the season. With Hartberg, he rose to the Bundesliga in 2018 .

Charge of assault

On October 17, 2015, SV Grödig lost a game against FK Austria Wien after Swete had conceded an egg goal . The goalkeeper then visited a pub in Vienna with friends to smoke shisha and get drunk. Around two o'clock in the morning there was an argument between Swete and his girlfriend at the time, Denise A. According to A., she wanted to calm down the "frustrated" footballer. Swete spat on her, strongly insulted her and also choked her. When she wanted to get into the taxi with him, he pushed her out several times before hitting her head several times against a wall. According to her information, he pulled her by the hair into the next taxi, after all she could have escaped. It has been proven that A. went to a hospital the following day, where strangulation marks were documented, and then filed a complaint.

Swete then reported Denise A. because she should have hit him first. According to his version, he wanted to get into a taxi alone, but A. prevented him from doing so several times. After all, she suddenly hit him in the face with her fist, and he pushed her away. Swete's version was confirmed by video recordings, and Denise A. also contradicted her testimony to the police and the court on one point. According to her, the attacks alleged by A. should have happened outside the field of view of the surveillance camera.

SV Grödig released Swete immediately on October 19, 2015. In the criminal proceedings there was a diversion , the goalkeeper pays € 1,500 to Denise A. and € 5,000 to the republic.
