Gregor Pötscher (born March 26, 1973 ) is a former Austrian soccer player and now soccer coach.
Career
The all-rounder began his career at SV Übelbach in Styria. In 1986 he switched to the offspring of the Grazer AK . Due to the club's relegation in 1990, he was used as a striker early on in the combat team. In 1992/93 it was loaned to DSV Leoben , but was brought back after the loan contract ended. Over the years, he went from being an offensive player to a defensive specialist, mostly as a right-back. His offensive style of play and his speed made him an important figure in the team. SK Rapid Wien wanted to sign him in the summer of 1998, but Pötscher was not released. He was three times Austrian cup winner and once Austrian champion with the Graz red jackets. In 2006 he ended his career as an active player and immediately switched to the supervisory staff for the next generation. Since 2008 he has been a coach at his home club, from January 2010 until the end of the season he was the coach at ASK Köflach in western Styria. From April 2011 to February 2012 he worked as a trainer for the regional league team DSV Leoben.
Since January 2017 Gregor Pötscher has been working as a youth coach at JAZ GU-Süd (youth training center Graz-Umgebung - Süd), the Styrian youth cooperation club of FC Red Bull Salzburg , which also includes the well-known former professional footballers Gernot Sick , Hannes Toth , Ferdinand Feldhofer and Diego Rottensteiner are active.
