The Arbeiter-Sport-Klub Köflach is an Austrian football club from Köflach in Styria . The club plays in the Styrian Oberliga Mitte, the fifth highest level in Austria. The club colors are blue and white. The main sponsor is the renewable energy company Mochart GmbH.

history

The association was founded in 1936 through the initiative of the Köflach youth with the help of the inn owners Franz Kleinhapl and Mimi Tax and the then school director Julius DOWN. In the founding year, the new sports field was built on the property of the two inn owners. The work on the sports field was delayed considerably due to the mine tunnels at that time. After the Second World War - in which many functionaries of the association fell - the association was expanded. A women's and men's soccer team, an athletics and a fistball section were created. During this time the association had most of its members.

In 1965, the footballers rose for the first time in the then second-rate regional league, in which the club was able to hold for two years. After the club had played in the third-class regional league since 2001, the football section had to move into the Styrian regional league in 2007. After two more relegations, the ASK Köflach only played in the sixth class Styrian Lower League West from 2012. In 2015, the club became champions with a 15-point lead and thus rose to the middle league.

Women's soccer

The Köflacherinnen played in the seasons 2004/05 and 2005/06 in the Styrian regional league and broke up. The village next to Köflach, Lankowitz, had its own women's team at FC Lankowitz , which played in the Styrian regional league at the same time.
