The FK Ufa ( Russian Футбольный клуб Уфа ) is a Russian football club from Ufa , the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan .
Club history
The association was founded on December 23, 2010. Andrei Kantschelskis became the first coach . The predecessor club is FC Neftjanik Ufa , founded in 1947 , which was dissolved in 2006 and was represented in the second division of the Soviet Union for several years . The team from Ufa started in the third class 2nd division and won the runner-up in the Ural-Powolschje relay . The club replaced the Dynamo Bryansk , which had run into financial difficulties, and thus took part in the game operations of the second highest Russian league . In May 2012, Igor Kolyvanov took over the head coaching position at FK Ufa. In the 2013/14 season, the team occupied fourth place in the table in the 1st division, which entitled to participate in the relegation games against Tom Tomsk . Ufa emerged victorious from both games and thus made it to the Russian football club for the first time. In October 2015, Igor Kolyvanov was released for failure. He was succeeded by Yevgeny Perewertajlo , who held the post until May 2016. In June 2016, the Belarusian Wiktar Hantscharenka was signed as the new head coach. After the Belarusian left for CSKA Moscow in December 2016, Sergei Semak took over the post of head coach. With sixth place in the table in 2018, the club took part in the qualifying phase of the 2018/19 UEFA Europa League for the first time because the Russian cup winner FK Tosno was unable to obtain a license for the UEFA Europa League due to financial difficulties (including debts) . In the 2018/19 season , the club saved itself to 14th place in the table (relegation place). In the relegation Ufa met Tom Tomsk and secured relegation after 2-0 and 0-1.
Stadion
The club plays its home games in the Neftjanik Stadium , which used to hold 10,200 spectators and was opened in 1967. From February 2012 the stadium was modernized and expanded to 15,234 seats. As a result, FK Ufa had to switch to the smaller Dynamo stadium in the 2014/15 season . On August 9, 2015, the converted Neftjanik Stadium was reopened with the league game against Zenit Saint Petersburg . In front of 14,200 visitors, the home team lost 1-0 to a goal from Portuguese Danny .
