Viktor Wladimirowitsch Wassin ( Russian Виктор Владимирович Васин ; English Viktor Vasin ; born October 6, 1988 in Leningrad , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian football player who is under contract with the Russian first division club CSKA Moscow . His position is that of the center- back .

Career

society

Similar to many other Russian football players, such as Andrei Arshavin and Vyacheslav Malafeyev , Wassin graduated from the famous Russian football school "Smena" in his hometown of St. Petersburg, which worked closely with the Russian club Zenit St. Petersburg . After he did not receive an invitation to the professional team from Zenit, he moved to Spartak Nalchik in 2006 , where he was used by the professionals. Vasin played in Nalchik from 2006 to 2010, where he was loaned to FK Nizhny Novgorod for the 2009 season.

In January 2011 Wassin switched to CSKA Moscow , but he suffered a serious injury to the anterior cruciate ligament right at the beginning and was only able to train with his new team for the first time at the end of May 2011. After the first games, many loans followed within Russia. But at CSKA the next cruciate ligament rupture followed in 2018/19 and Wassin missed 41 games for the Russians. In the following season he also had to undergo knee surgery.

National team

Wassin made his debut for the Russian national team in November 2010 against Belgium when he was substituted on in the 46th minute of the game. In the 2-0 defeat, Wassin made a major contribution to the goal by Romelu Lukaku through a mistake . He scored his first goal on March 28, 2017 in a friendly against Belgium (3: 3).
