Peter Németh (born September 14, 1972 in Banská Bystrica , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak football coach and former football player of Hungarian descent .
Career
As a player
Németh began his career in Slovakia at FK AS Trenčín , then moved to Baník Prievidza and came to Eintracht Frankfurt via MŠK Žilina , FK Inter Bratislava and Baník Ostrava , where he played until 2002. He then went back for one season on loan to FK AS Trenčín and played for Sportfreunde Siegen between 2003 and 2009 , with whom he rose to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2004/05 .
As a player-coach
On May 1, 2008, Nemeth took over the position of coach for the 1st team of Sportfreunde Siegen in the Regionalliga Süd , initially as a player coach. He replaced the unsuccessful coach Marc Fascher . At a press conference on June 27, 2008, he was publicly presented as a player-coach. Almost a year later, on June 2, 2009, while the season was still running, he was replaced at Sportfreunde.
From the beginning of the 2009/10 season he played actively again when he played for the second team of the Siegerland A-Kreisligist Spvg Bürbach 09 . In addition, there were internships at ŠK Slovan Bratislava in Slovakia and FC Groningen in the Netherlands.
Trainer
On October 29, 2009 he returned to Sportfreunde in Siegen, this time as Rob Delahaije's assistant coach . On March 29, 2010, he was promoted back to head coach, but only for just under six weeks, since he was released on April 12, 2010. From September 16, 2013 to June 30, 2014, he was assistant trainer for the professionals at Dynamo Dresden , and since February 17, 2015, he has been head coach as the successor to Stefan Böger . At the beginning of the 2015/16 season he was again assistant coach, this time under Uwe Neuhaus .
On August 22, 2018, he was given leave of absence from the Dresden club together with Uwe Neuhaus after he was eliminated in the first round of the DFB Cup against regional league club SV Rödinghausen . On December 11th, Németh became the new assistant coach at Arminia Bielefeld under Uwe Neuhaus .
National team
For the Slovak national team , Németh played 22 internationals in which he scored three goals.
