Marc Kienle (born October 22, 1972 in Ruit auf den Fildern ) is a former German soccer player and today's soccer coach .
Player career
As a 19-year-old Marc Kienle moved from the youth of the Stuttgarter Kickers to city rivals VfB Stuttgart . In his first professional season, the young defensive player (ten missions) became German champions with VfB in 1991/92 . In 1995 Kienle moved to MSV Duisburg , which he left in 1998 to join Karlsruher SC . In 2000, Kienle moved to Alemannia Aachen for a year before returning to MSV Duisburg in 2001, which he left again in 2003. In November 2003 he moved to MVV Maastricht , for which Kienle played until 2006. He then played for Wormatia Worms , where he ended his career after a few months.
Trainer and functionary career
From July 2007 to June 2008 Kienle was assistant coach of the A-Juniors at VfB Stuttgart. For the 2008/09 season Kienle was head coach of VfB's B youth team. After his first season as head coach, Kienle won the championship in the B-Junior Bundesliga in 2009 with VfB Stuttgart . In January 2010, Kienle became head coach of the U19s at VfB. In the 2010/11 season he completed the DFB football instructor course and returned to the Stuttgart U17 team.
For the 2011/12 season, Kienle was the senior sporting director in the youth division of VfB Stuttgart, and for the 2012/13 season he was coach of the A-Juniors at FC Bayern Munich .
From October 2013 to April 2015 Kienle was the head coach of the professional team at SV Wehen Wiesbaden . After his release, Christian Hock took over this position.
On June 5, 2016, Kienle signed a contract with VfB Stuttgart as Manager Sports Coordination. At the beginning of the 2018/19 season , Kienle became the sporting director of VfB's new U-21 team. At the same time, he took over the training of the previous U-23 head coach Andreas Hinkel at VfB II because of the football teacher training . He was released from his duties on April 1, 2019.
