Manuel Junglas (born January 31, 1989 in Cologne ) is a German football player .

Career

The striker started playing football at SC West Cologne . In 2004 he switched to the youth team at Alemannia Aachen , for whom he played regularly in the second team from 2007 and scored 20 goals in 30 season appearances in the 2008/09 NRW League . In January 2007 he took part in the winter training camp of the professional team in Portugal.

Due to personnel concerns on the offensive, Junglas moved up to the professional squad after the winter break in 2007. He made his Bundesliga debut on March 17, 2007 in the game against Arminia Bielefeld , when he came on for Jan Schlaudraff in the 90th minute . He scored his first competitive goal on the 34th matchday of the 2008/09 season in the game against FC Augsburg .

For the 2009/10 season he and Abdul Özgen received professional contracts. This season Junglas became a regular player in midfield. He scored his first goal of the season in a 3-0 win against FSV Frankfurt . In the 2011/12 season he was relegated with his club as penultimate from the second division and moved to the second division VfR Aalen for the 2012/13 season .

In his first year with the Swabians he was mostly a substitute and only played four games over the entire game. After the coach change for the 2013/14 season from Ralph Hasenhüttl to Stefan Ruthenbeck , who changed the game system so that several players played in central midfield, Junglas became a regular player and top performer in midfield, scoring three goals and preparing four more. In May 2014, Junglas extended its expiring contract for another two years. In the following 2014/15 season, however, he lost his regular place in the course of the preliminary round to the newly signed Jürgen Gjasula and was only substituted four times in the final phase of the last eight games before the winter break.

Therefore, Junglas left Aalen in January 2015 and switched to third division Arminia Bielefeld. There he was “Third League Player of the Month” in April 2015 and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. After two and a half years at Arminia, he switched to regional league club FC Viktoria Köln in 2017 .
