The Backnanger Kreiszeitung (short: BKZ ) is a daily newspaper published in the city of Backnang , Rems-Murr-Kreis , Baden-Württemberg , and the surrounding area . The sold circulation is 13,517 copies, a decrease of 24.5 percent since 1998.

history

The Backnanger Kreiszeitung first appeared on March 19, 1832, at that time still under the name Intelligence-Blatt , with an edition of around 100 copies. The first publisher was the book printer Caspar Hack. In 1875 the newspaper, then called Murrtal-Bote, became the property of the Stroh family, who owned the Stroh publishing house. Druck- und Medien GmbH Backnang still owns today. The current name has existed since 1951. Since 1975 the coat has been taken over by the Stuttgarter Nachrichten . The Backnanger Kreiszeitung has twelve permanent editors and numerous freelancers (as of 2020).
