Catholic Church of the Assumption Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built from 1868 to 1872 as a hall church with a gable top. In 1923 the church received a transept and a choir based on plans by the architects Prior and Casel from Trier. In 1952/53 the architect Fritz Thoma built a three-part west wing with a central tower. In 1968 the oldest parts of the church were demolished because they were in disrepair and a new building was built in 1968/69 based on a design by Toni Laub. The most striking component is the mighty west wing with a raised central section. Behind it is the actual church building as a polygonal building made of sandstone with an irregular pyramid roof.
