Rudolf Stilcken

Rudolf Stilcken (born February 15, 1925 in Hamburg ; † June 11, 2016 there ) was a German public relations consultant and entrepreneur .

Life

Since 1952 Stilcken has been active in advertising, marketing and public relations. From 1964 to 1967 he was chairman of the Advertising Agencies Society (GWA), from 1964 vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Advertising Industry (ZAW), from 1974 member of the supervisory board of Rosenthal Glas & Porzellan AG, from 1982 to 1984 member of the board of directors of Rosenthal Holding for strategic tasks. In 1986 he founded his own company, Rudolf Stilcken-Büro für Kommunikation , specializing in corporate communication and regional marketing (later: Stilcken + Goettges - Agency for Communication ). In 2004, Stilcken handed the management over to Ulf C. Goettges. In 2011 Stilcken founded the agency with his wife Angelika Jahr-Stilcken and Wolfgang Behnken Behnken / Jahr / Stilcken .

Stilcken was chairman of the supervisory board of KPM Berlin, from 1974 to 1984 supervisory board of the Hamburger Messe + Kongress GmbH and is a member of the supervisory board of Hadi Teherani Design AG. From 1987 to 2003 Stilcken was chairman of the board of the Internationales Design Zentrum Berlin (IDZ) and member of the board of the iF - International Forum Design Hannover .

In 1989 he was co-founder of Plan International Deutschland eV, until 1997 as chairman of the board, until 2008 chairman of the board of trustees, since then honorary chairman. Stilcken has been a consultant to the cultural sponsoring working group (AKS) in the cultural group of German business since it was founded. Until 2011 he was a member of the committee for cultural promotion of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. Since 1995 he has been a lecturer at KMM Hamburg, Institute for Culture and Media Management, and since 2015 a member of the advisory board of the Institute for Cultural Innovation Research at the University of Music and Theater, Hamburg. In 2013 and 2015, Stilcken announced the Hamburg Prize for Cultural Communication, in 2013 together with the Hermann Rauhe Foundation, in 2015 with the Institute for Cultural Innovation Research.

Rudolf Stilcken was married to Angelika Jahr-Stilcken for the second time. The couple have two grown children named Anna and Alexander. In addition, Rudolf Stilcken has a son named Andreas from his first marriage. He lived in Hamburg and was buried in the family grave of the Ohlsdorf cemetery there

Honors

In 2002 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his voluntary work. In 2011 he received the badge of honor from the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. Rudolf Stilcken has been Senator hc at the Hamburg University of Music and Drama since 2015 and has been an honorary member of the Cultural Circle of German Business / Cultural Sponsoring Working Group since 2016.
