Karl Behre

Karl Behre (born April 11, 1899 in Hanover ; † January 14, 1960 there ) was a German water polo player from SV Wasserfreunde 1898 Hanover .

With the Wasserfreunde Behre became German champions in 1921, 1922 and 1923, and in 1927 Behre won his fourth title.

Behre was part of the German national water polo team when it was allowed to take part in international sports again after the First World War . At the European Championships in 1926, the German team won bronze behind Hungary and Sweden, but were eliminated the following year in the preliminary round against Sweden. At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 , Behre became Olympic champion with the German water polo team .
