The Feldschlößchen corporation is a large brewery in Dresden . The production volume in 2011 was around 1 million hectoliters, in 2016 around 2 million hectoliters.

history

At the foot of the Hahneberg in Südvorstadt there was a single farm that belonged to Anna Nehlin. In 1644, Elector Johann Georg I allowed beer and wine to be served here to strangers. In 1684 the Honorable Secret War Councilor Dietrich von Bosse bought the farm and received it from Elector Johann Georg III. a letter of privilege and built the castle in the field. The future wife of the builder Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann , who died in 1729, bought this property for 6000 thalers . Around 1730 the Feldschlößchen was a well-known excursion and entertainment venue with a dance hall, bowling alley and summer garden.

In 1813 the Feldschlößchen was destroyed in the Battle of Dresden , and in 1819 a new Feldschlößchen was built.

Leonhard Meisel, leaseholder of the Bavarian brewery in Friedrichstadt , took over the restaurant and in 1838 set up a lager brewery in Dresden-Südvorstadt (old Feldschlößchen) on Budapester Strasse , today's "Feldschlößchen-Stammhaus". After twenty years the "Aktienbrauerei zum Feldschlößchen" was founded.

In 1960 the brewery became a state-owned company (VEB), with individual breweries in Dresden merging to form the VEB Dresdener Brauereien . In 1973 the construction of the brewery in Dresden-Coschütz began on Cunnersdorfer Straße, where beer has been brewed since 1981. Since April 1, 1983, this brewery had been part of the “nationally owned drinks combination ”, which had already been home to VEB Dresdener breweries and other breweries from the Dresden district since 1979 . In 1990 the "VE Beverage Combine" was reorganized into the Saxon Brewing Union .

The Holsten Brewery took over the Sächsische Brau-Union in 1992 and renamed it Feldschlößchen Aktiengesellschaft, Dresden in 1995 . When Holsten was taken over by the Carlsberg Brewery, Feldschlößchen AG became part of the Carlsberg Group in 2004.

In January 2011, Dresdner Feldschlößchen AG was sold by Carlsberg to TCB Beteiligungsgesellschaft based in Frankfurt (Oder) , the holding company includes the Frankfurter Brauhaus and the SAS Brasserie Champigneulles (France). Carlsberg justified the sale on the one hand by wanting to concentrate more on its own core brands (Carlsberg, Holsten, Lübzer, Duckstein and Astra). On the other hand, they wanted to better utilize the Dresden brewery with sales and continue to cooperate with it. From 2011 to 2016, the new owners were able to double the output.
