The WIRmachenDRUCK Arena is part of the Fautenhau sports park. The lower square was formerly the main playing field in Fautenhau, which was lowered by 1.50 meters as part of the renovation work from 2009. In addition, the SG Sonnenhof clubhouse and a Canadian-style log house integrated into one of the stands are part of the arena.

Reconstruction from 2009

Since the facility did not meet the requirements of the German Football Association for regional league stadiums after SG Sonnenhof Großaspach was promoted to the regional league , the Fautenhau sports park was rebuilt in summer 2009 and made suitable for the regional league.

The stadium was financed by a group of investors, which also includes pop singer Andrea Berg and football professionals Aljaksandr Hleb and Mario Gómez . The calculated costs of around 6.5 million euros rose to over 10 million euros. During the renovation work, SG Sonnenhof Großaspach played its games in the Frankenstadion Heilbronn .

Surname

From July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2014, the new stadium was called Comtech Arena , named after Comtech GmbH . On July 3, 2014 it was announced that Mechatronik Fahrzeug- und Motorentechnik GmbH will be the new name sponsor and the stadium will be renamed Mechatronik Arena . In mid-December 2019 it was announced that the stadium will be sponsored by the sponsor name "WIRmachenDRUCK Arena" from January 2020 , after the online printing company WIRmachenDRUCK . The contract came into force on January 1, 2020 and is initially for four years. The official start of the partnership was on February 3, 2020 at the first home game of the second half of the season against the Würzburger Kickers .
