From July 1, 2010 he coached the first team of SV Heimstetten in the Bayern League . An internal restructuring took place in January 2014, with Schromm moving to the post of sports director, while Baum became head coach. At the end of July 2020, it was announced that Claus Schromm is resigning from his coaching position and will become sporting director at SpVgg Unterhaching.
