Björn Kopplin (born January 7, 1989 in Berlin ) is a German football player .

Career

societies

Kopplin started playing soccer at the youth department of 1. FC Union Berlin at the age of six and stayed there for nine years. In 2004 he moved to the youth department of FC Bayern Munich for a training allowance of 15,000 euros , where he was mainly used in the U-19 team until 2007 . In 2007 he joined the Regionalliga team and made his debut on May 10, 2008 (31st matchday) in a 3: 3 away game against SV Sandhausen , when he came on for Timo Heinze in the 74th minute . He played his first third division game on August 2, 2008 (2nd matchday) in a 2-2 away game against Wuppertaler SV Borussia , when he was again used for Timo Heinze in the 69th minute.

During the summer break of 2010, Kopplin moved to Bundesliga relegated VfL Bochum , for whom he made his debut on August 23, 2010 (1st matchday) in the home game against TSV 1860 Munich . In his first year in the second division , he played all 34 games of the season. In the end, Bochum reached third place and missed promotion in the relegation. For the 2015/16 season he was signed by the third division club Preußen Münster , for which he played all 38 point games and scored two goals. Without a club from the end of the season, he joined the Danish second division club Hobro IK during the winter break of 2016/17 . National team

With the U-17 national team , Kopplin finished fourth at the 2006 European Championships . In 2008 he was appointed to the U-19 selection for the 2008 European Championships in the Czech Republic, with which he won the final against Italy 3-1 and thus the first title of his career. As in the previous games, Kopplin was used in the final. During the tournament he mainly played as a left full-back.

Kopplin made his debut in the U-20 national team on April 22, 2009 in Chemnitz in a 5-0 win over Italy . He scored his first two goals on October 7, 2009 in the round of 16 of the U-20 World Cup against Nigeria's selection , including the decisive 3-2 in added time. He played his last game for this national team on October 10, 2009 in Cairo in the quarter-finals , which was lost 2-1 to Brazil in extra time .
