UEFA-CAF Meridian Cup
The UEFA-CAF Meridian Cup was a football tournament that was launched on January 30, 1997 by UEFA and the CAF and held for the last time in 2007.

1997 and 1999
In the first two tournaments, the best youth national teams from the two confederations played against each other. After a preliminary round played in two groups, the tournament was continued in the semi-finals in the knockout system.
2001 to 2005
From 2001 to 2005, the youth national teams only competed against teams from the other confederation. The points of the European and African teams were added up and the continent that could score more points was considered the winner. However, the award for the best team was retained.
2007
In 2007 two selections of the best players from the two confederations competed against each other. Marko Marin ( Borussia Mönchengladbach ), Manuel Fischer ( VfB Stuttgart ) and Björn Kopplin ( FC Bayern Munich ) were appointed to the European selection as German players, Switzerland and Austria did not provide any selection players. The most prominent participant was Bojan Krkić ( FC Barcelona ).
