Marcel Kandziora (born February 4, 1990 in Münster ) is a German football player . He plays mainly defensively in the left defensive or midfield position.
Career
In the club
Youth career
In his youth, Marcel Kandziora first played for TuS Altenberge before moving to Borussia Dortmund in 2004 . There he went through the youth departments and was used in the U-17 and U-19 Bundesliga . During this time he played four finals with Borussia’s offspring, all of which were lost: in 2006 and 2007 the finals for the German B youth championship and in 2009 the playoffs for the A youth championship and the DFB junior club cup .
Entry into senior football
He then became part of the second senior team at the beginning of the 2009/10 season , which had just been promoted to the third division . With this he made his professional league debut on July 25, 2009, when he came on in the away game at Wacker Burghausen in the 84th minute for Mehmet Boztepe at a score of 3: 3. The final score was 3: 4 from Dortmund's point of view. In the first 11 match days he played five games, in which he was always substituted in the last half hour and scored two goals. Then he fell out with a meniscus damage for the rest of the first half of the season. After his injury he was regularly on the field for the Borussia reserve, but could not secure a regular place. In his other 11 games he failed to score and was substituted on and off four times. It was used three times over the full 90 minutes. He finished the series with his team in 18th place in the table and was relegated to the Regionalliga West . In this league he was a regular player, but now, after he had been called up in his first season mostly in the defensive or left midfield, mostly as a left-back. With the Dortmund reserve, he finished 6th and thus missed the promotion.
Still, he made the leap back into professional football, as it for 2011/12 season for SV Sandhausen moved to the third league. At first he played on the left midfield position and was often substituted on or off. Finally he established himself as a left defender in the team and won the third division championship with the team, which meant for him the march through to the 2nd Bundesliga. After SV Sandhausen's relegation to the third division in 2013, Kandziora moved to the second division club FSV Frankfurt , with whom he signed a two-year contract. From 2014 to 2016 Kandziora played for VfL Osnabrück .
In the winter of 2016, Kandziora joined North Carolina FC in the North American Soccer League. There he played his first game on March 26, 2017.
In the national team
Kandziora played his only games in the German national jersey in 2007 in two friendly matches for the DFB's U-18 team against the Irish of the same age. The first game was won 4-0, the second lost 2-3. Kandziora scored his first international goal in the defeat and thus established the final score.
