Burak Kaplan (born February 1, 1990 in Cologne ) is a Turkish football player who is used in the central or outer midfield .

career

Kaplan's first club was SSV Vingst 05 . He played there from 1994 to 1997, when he was discovered and signed by Bayer 04 Leverkusen team scouts . From then on he went through all the youth departments and played in the U-19 Bundesliga , where he was the top scorer of his team with 17 goals in his last youth season. In addition, he made his senior debut this season, on December 20, 2008 for the reserve team Leverkusen. On the 18th matchday of the Regionalliga West 2008/09 he scored in the final phase of the home game against SC Verl as the joker to make it 2-2. However, he was only used one more time this season.

The preparation for the Bundesliga season 2009/10 completed Kaplan with the first team Leverkusen, where he convinced those responsible and signed a professional contract dated until 2012. Initially, however, he was only used by the amateurs until he replaced the injured Daniel Schwaab at half-time on matchday 16, in the 2-2 away draw against Hertha BSC , and thus made his Bundesliga premiere. On this debut, too, he scored a goal for Leverkusen's 2-1 lead. On his starting line-up debut on matchday 32, Kaplan also scored a 3-0 win over Hannover 96 and put on another goal.

After not playing a single Bundesliga game for the Werkself in the first half of the 2010/11 season, he was loaned to SpVgg Greuther Fürth in January 2011 until the end of the season. There he scored three goals in six appearances as a substitute in the 2nd Bundesliga. Nevertheless, after quarrels at the club, when he asked for more playing time for himself, he was deleted from the squad for disciplinary reasons before the end of the season.

On May 27, 2011, the Turkish first division side Beşiktaş Istanbul announced the commitment of Burak Kaplan, with which he also moved to the country of his parents. Beşiktaş paid Kaplan a transfer fee of 650,000 euros and gave him a three-year contract. His first game for Beşiktaş he played on the 16th match day of the 2011/12 season when he came on in the away game against Samsunspor in the 59th minute for Necip Uysal .

At the beginning of January 2013, Kaplan completed a trial training session with the German third division club Preußen Münster , but at the end of the month switched to their league rivals SV Babelsberg 03 on loan .

For the 2013/14 season he was initially loaned to the second division Fethiyespor , but switched to KFC Uerdingen 05 for the second half of the season on January 30, 2014, also on loan . In the summer of 2014 he then moved permanently to the western regional division SG Wattenscheid 09 . In the first half of the 2016/17 season, Kaplan was removed from the 09er squad. For this reason, he moved to the upper division FC Kray during the winter break . This rose at the end of the season in the national league.

In January 2018 he returned to his hometown Cologne and joined the district division SC Brück 07 .
