Maximilian Beister in training at HSV (2013)

Beister grew up in Lüneburg . He began in the F-youth at VfL Lüneburg playing football and joined the 2004 youth academy of Hamburger SV . He has been a supporter of this club since he was ten.

For the 2008/09 season, Beister was initially in the A-Youth squad (U-19), as in the previous season , in which he was part of the older age group at that time. In the first half of the season he played all of his season appearances in the A-Jugend-Bundesliga in Rodolfo Cardoso's team . Occasionally he was also used in Karsten Bäron's second team (U-23) . So he made his senior debut in the fourth-class Regionalliga Nord on September 21, 2008 (5th matchday) . In the 0-1 defeat against 1. FC Magdeburg , he was substituted on for Joseph Olumide in the 53rd minute of the game . Another use followed on matchday 11. After the 18th matchday, Bäron was dismissed as coach of the second team. Beisters A-youth coach Rodolfo Cardoso took over for him. After all, he was used regularly under Cardoso.

For the 2009/10 season , Beister signed a professional contract that made him a member of the professional team. In Bruno Labbadia's team he was given the number 31 on his back. He only collected match practice in the second team, in which he became a regular player. On November 22, 2009 (13th matchday) Beister made his professional debut when he was substituted on for Guy Demel in 89 minutes in the 0-1 home defeat against VfL Bochum . Another deployment followed on April 17, 2010 (31st matchday). In the 0-1 home defeat against 1. FSV Mainz 05 , Beister came on for Dennis Aogo in the 82nd minute of the game .

Loan to Fortuna Düsseldorf

In order to collect match practice, Beister was loaned to the second division Fortuna Düsseldorf for two years for the 2010/11 season. In the DFB-Pokal game against TuS Koblenz , his first competitive game for Fortuna, he came on for Sascha Dum in the 25th minute . He made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga on September 11, 2010 against FSV Frankfurt . He scored his first goal on December 18, 2010 in the game against SpVgg Greuther Fürth , when he scored the 1-0 final score in the 73rd minute. During the second half of the 2010/11 season Beister developed into a regular player in the attacking midfield and played almost all games from the start.

In the first half of the 2011/12 season , in which he was mostly used in right midfield, Beister continued his positive development. He played all games from the start and scored eight goals. With Fortuna Düsseldorf, Beister became autumn champions after the first half of the season and top scorer in the 2nd Bundesliga with eight goals and eleven assists. In the second half of the season Beister could not fully build on his performance from the first half of the season. This applied to the entire team, which fell two places compared to the first half of the season and was therefore third in the relegation. In this Beister scored the 1-0 in the second leg against Hertha BSC after just 25 seconds. With a 2-1 away win in Berlin and a 2-2 win , Fortuna made it perfect for the club in Beister's last game.

Return to Hamburg

Beister returned to HSV after the end of the loan contract for the 2012/13 season . On November 27, 2012 (14th matchday) in a 3-1 win at home against FC Schalke 04 , he scored his first Bundesliga goal with a goal that made it 1-0 in the 52nd minute. On March 5, 2012, he extended his contract, which expired on June 30, 2013, for three more years until June 30, 2016. Overall, Beister had a hard time under coach Thorsten Fink and was mostly only a substitute. He scored three goals throughout the Bundesliga season.

In the 2013/14 season Beister got better under his new coach Bert van Marwijk and became a regular player on the right wing in the 4-2-3-1 system. In the first half of the season Beister scored five goals in the league and two in the cup. During a test match at the winter training camp against Vitesse Arnheim in January 2014, he tore the anterior cruciate ligament and cartilage and meniscus damage in his left knee and was out for the rest of the season and the first half of the 2014/15 season .

Almost a year after his injury, Beister celebrated his comeback on January 15, 2015. In the 3-2 test match win of HSV against Eintracht Frankfurt in the training camp in Dubai , he played for half an hour and scored the first goal of the game in the 12th minute. Beister finally celebrated his competitive comeback on January 31, 2015, when he was substituted on for Mohamed Gouaida in the 77th minute of the 0-2 home defeat against 1. FC Köln on the first match day of the second half of the season . In the following games he came only to four more inserts as a substitute and played in the entire second half of the season 68 minutes for the first team. At times he gained playing experience in the second team, for which he was used five times (two goals) in the fourth-class Regionalliga Nord.

Mainz 05, on loan to 1860 Munich and to Melbourne

After one more season running contract had been terminated by Beister with HSV, is Beister closed for the season 2015/16 the 1. FSV Mainz 05 on where he got a running until June 30, 2018 agreement. In the first half of the season he only played one Bundesliga game when he was substituted on for Jairo in the 85th minute in a 3-1 away win against HSV on matchday 15 . He also came to work in the second team in the third division .

On February 1, 2016, Beister switched to TSV 1860 Munich on loan until the end of the season and played eight games in the 2nd Bundesliga .

After the loan deal ended, he initially returned to Mainz 05 for the 2016/17 season and was integrated into the second team. In order to recommend himself for a change of club, Beister trained from mid-July to mid-August 2016 under Norbert Meier , with whom he had already worked at Fortuna Düsseldorf, at the Bundesliga club SV Darmstadt 98 on a trial basis. After Beister was replaced in the 35th minute of the game in mid-September 2016 in his only season appearance, he was eliminated from the second team due to a lack of recruitment.

On October 18, 2016, Beister was awarded to Melbourne Victory in the Australian A-League until the end of the 2016/17 season . At the beginning of February 2017, after nine missions (one goal), he terminated his contract for personal reasons in order to return to Germany. Since June 1, 2017, he was initially under contract in Mainz again, but the employment relationship was terminated prematurely at the end of June 2017.

KFC Uerdingen 05

On January 13, 2018, Beister went to the western regional division KFC Uerdingen . He received a contract that runs until June 30, 2020. At the end of the season , Beister was in first place with KFC Uerdingen in the Regionalliga West and was thus qualified for relegation to the 3rd division . It was decided by lot that Uerdingen meets Waldhof Mannheim . In the first leg, the Krefeld won 1-0 through the goal of Maximilian Beister. The second leg was canceled after spectator riots when the score was 2: 1 for KFC Uerdingen in the 82nd minute and scored 2: 0 for Uerdingen. As a result, the KFC returned to professional football after ten years. During the 2017/18 season Maximilian Beister scored eleven goals in 15 appearances.

In the third division season 2018/19 Beister was on the field 31 times for KFC Uerdingen and scored eleven goals. At the end of the season, the attacker finished eleventh with the KFC and won the Lower Rhine Cup .

FC Ingolstadt 04

For the 2019/20 season, the striker moved within the 3rd division to FC Ingolstadt 04 and signed a contract with the relegated team until June 2021. Beister was used regularly, but was never able to earn a regular place and only scored five goals in 24 competitive games. In the state cup , Beister made it to the round of 16 with Ingolstadt, in the DFB Cup it was already the first round. Before the game the 31 match day he was indefinitely from the league suspended .

National team

In 2009 Beister was appointed to a selection of the DFB , the U19 , for the first time . Overall, he ran for this five times, but remained without a goal. From October 2009 he was then used in the U20 , for which he scored once in his first two games. Maximilian Beister has played for the German U21 team since 2010 , with which he qualified for the 2013 European Championship finals but was not nominated for the tournament.
