Jairo , whose full name is Jairo Samperio Bustara , (born July 11, 1993 in Cabezón de la Sal , Cantabria ) is a Spanish football player . The winger is without a club.

Career

Jairo began his career at SD Textil Escudo in his native city of Cabezón de la Sal . In 2006 he moved to the youth team at Racing Santander . He moved in 2011 to the first team squad and came on August 27, 2011 at 3: 4 defeat against FC Valencia on his debut in the Primera División . On October 25, 2011, he scored his first goal in a 2-2 draw against FC Sevilla . For the 2013/14 season he was signed by league rivals Sevilla FC. He won the UEFA Europa League with the club in 2014 .

On August 29, 2014 Jairo moved to the Bundesliga for 1. FSV Mainz 05 . He signed a four-year contract. On October 18, 2014 (8th matchday), he scored his first Bundesliga goal in a 2-1 win at home against FC Augsburg with the goal to make it 2-0 in the 23rd minute. He was not allowed to wear his first name and stage name "Jairo" on his jersey in the Bundesliga because it was not entered as such in his passport.

On January 1, 2018, Jairo returned to the Primera División and joined the UD Las Palmas , where he signed a contract that ran until the end of the 2017/18 season. By the end of the season, Jairo was used in eleven league games, but could not prevent relegation and left the club when his contract expired.

For the 2018/19 season, Jairo moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for Hamburger SV . He signed a one-year contract with the Bundesliga relegated team. He made his competitive debut for Hamburg at the season opening game on August 3, 2018 against Holstein Kiel . After another league and a DFB Cup appearance, Jairo suffered damage to both cruciate ligaments and the inner ligament in the right knee joint during training at the end of August 2018 . Nevertheless, his contract was extended to June 30, 2020 in March 2019. On the 2nd match day of the 2019/20 season , Jairo made his comeback in a competitive game after almost a year. In the further course of the season, Jairo could not prevail under the head coach Dieter Hecking . He completed 14 second division games (once from the start) in which he scored a goal, and was not in the matchday squad in some games. As in the previous season, HSV missed the promotion in 4th place, whereupon Jairo left the club when his contract ended.

National team

Jairo took part with the Spanish U20 national team in 2013 in the U20 World Cup in Turkey , where his team was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Uruguay . In November 2013 he played twice for the U21 team .
