Career

Kaya first played in the youth departments of TSV Klein-Linden and VfB Gießen before playing for 1. FSV Mainz 05 from the U13 onwards . In the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons he played with the B-Youth (U17) in the B-Junior Bundesliga . For the 2016/17 season , Kaya moved to the A-Youth (U19) of FC Ingolstadt 04 , with whom he played in the A-Junior Bundesliga and relegated to the A-Junior Bayern League for the 2017/18 season. At the end of the 2017/18 season he also played twice (no goal) in the second team in the fourth-class Bavarian regional league and, under Stefan Leitl, was twice in the professional matchday squad in the 2nd Bundesliga .

For the 2018/19 season, Kaya was promoted to Stefan Leitl's professional squad. After he had played neither under Leitl nor under his successor Alexander Nouri in the 2nd Bundesliga, he made his debut on December 1, 2018 in a 1: 2 defeat against Hamburger SV under interim coach Roberto Pätzold in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored his first second division goal. At this point he had scored 10 goals in 16 regional league appearances. Under the new coach Jens Keller , several matchday nominations and a short assignment in his last game as FCI coach followed. Three other substitutions followed under Tomas Oral . In addition to 5 second division appearances (one goal), Kaya made 18 regional league appearances (10 goals) this season. He was also substituted in both relegation games in which FC Ingolstadt was relegated to the third division against SV Wehen Wiesbaden .
