The Turn- und Sportverein 1889 Gießen-Klein-Linden eV is a German sports club founded in 1889 with headquarters in the Hessian city of Gießen .

Success in the 1970s
The association was founded in 1889. In 1974 the TSV reached the finals of the Hessen Cup , but failed there with 2-1 to Rot-Weiss Frankfurt . As an inferior finalist, the team was still able to qualify for the DFB Cup of the 1974/75 season. There the team lost 1: 2 to Rot-Weiß Lüdenscheid in the first round . For the 1975/76 season , the club then also managed to rise to the Hessen League . This season could then be completed with 30:38 points in 13th place. After that, the club was able to hold on to the 1977/78 season in the league, but then had to relegate to the regional league due to the 17th place.
Current time
In the 2003/04 season the club played in the regional league - Gießen / Marburg region . At the end of this season, the team finished second with 73 points and thus rose to the national league. The following season, however, the club was only able to finish off with 17 points in 17th and last place. Back in the regional league, the team rose again after the 2005/06 season due to the 15th place. Now settled in the District League South , the following season ended for the club with 42 points in eleventh place. It was only after the 2014/15 season that the league, which is now called the regional league, was able to regain first place. As a result of the promotion back to the division, which is now called the group league, it was possible to keep it in eighth place with 41 points in the 2015/16 season. After another season, however, due to 19 points from 32 games over 17th place, it went straight back to the district Oberliga Süd. The first season there was then held in ninth place with 40 points. The club still plays there today.
