Jalen Hawkins (born January 24, 2001 in Regensburg ) is an American - German football player . The winger is under contract with FC Ingolstadt 04 and is a young American national player.
Career
society
Hawkins moved from FC Ingolstadt 04 to the FC Bayern Campus as a C-youth . In his last B-youth season he won the Bundesliga season south / south-west with Munich and reached the final of the championship finals, where they lost to Borussia Dortmund . The winger had played 27 games and scored three goals. In the summer of 2018 he returned to Ingolstadt, where Hawkins was now playing for the U19, but missed large parts of the season as a result of a cruciate ligament injury.
In the summer of 2019, the winger was once in the Bayern league team's matchday squad without a mission and was used by head coach Jeff Saibene in the 8-1 state cup win against SV Burgwallbach; he was able to score two goals. The US-American ended the 2019/20 Bundesliga season with Ingolstadt in 8th place in the table after it had been prematurely canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic . In 18 Bundesliga games he was able to earn 10 points scorer. After he had already been allowed to travel to the winter training camp with the first team under Saibenes successor Tomas Oral , Hawkins continued to train with the professionals after the U19 season ended. In the goalless draw against promotion rivals Eintracht Braunschweig on the 33rd third division matchday in mid-June 2020, he was then sent to the field in the final phase. The German-American's contract with the Schanzers had already been extended to June 2022 in advance .
National team
Hawkins has so far completed three internationals for junior teams of the USSF .
Others
Hawkins began working with Nunzio Esposito, a mental trainer, at the age of twelve. He prepared him, for example, for his time at FC Bayern and worked with him on his return from a cruciate ligament rupture.
