Career

society

In his youth, Eckert played at Pulheimer SC and in the youth teams of 1. FC Cologne and Alemannia Aachen . Born in Bonn, he spent the last part of his football training with Borussia Mönchengladbach . In the UEFA Youth League , the attacker played all group matches with the club's A youth team, but were subsequently eliminated.

In the 2-2 draw of the regional league team against SSVg Velbert , Eckert was substituted on the 7th match day of the 2015/16 regional league season shortly before the end and was on the field for the first time in men's football. The following season should have been the next step for the second team under head coach Arie van Lent , but the striker only played for a good 20 minutes and was either injured, sat in the stands or was not substituted for the rest of the time.

In the summer of 2017, the offensive player signed a contract with the Spanish first division club Celta Vigo until 2021 . With the second team called Celta Vigo B, the German played 36 third division games (8 goals, 6 assists) and was used in all four play-off games for promotion to the second division , where the team had to admit defeat to Cartagena FC .

After another 21 games in the subsequent season for the first and second team, Eckert was loaned to Excelsior Rotterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie during the winter break until the end of the season . After a draw and a defeat against RKC Waalwijk , Excelsior moved to the second division and Eckert returned to Spain.

Originally, Celta Vigo planned to sell Eckert to a Spanish second division team in the summer of 2019 due to a lack of prospects, but after a conversation with Michael Henke , sports director of FC Ingolstadt 04 , which was relegated to the third division , the striker signed one with Upper Bavaria for the 8th match day Contract valid until June 2021. Eckert was part of the regular formation from the start.

In autumn 2015 Eckert played 45 minutes in a friendly game between the German U19s against Serbia .
