Christoph Sauter (born August 3, 1991 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German soccer player .

Career

Christoph Sauter began playing football at the VfR Friesenheim district club in his hometown of Ludwigshafen. At the age of twelve he switched to the youth team at SV Waldhof Mannheim , before 1. FSV Mainz 05 brought him into his successful youth team in 2007 . Two years later he was with the U-19 of the club of German junior champions. In his last junior year he was also used four times in the Mainz regional league team. He was also appointed to the U-19 team of the German Football Association.

Nevertheless, the offensive player then moved to 1. FC Nürnberg because he was not convinced of his future in Mainz. With the Franconians he was part of the extended Bundesliga squad and was one of four young players who took part in the winter training camp for the pros, but he was the only one of the four who did not make a Bundesliga appearance. Instead, he was a regular in the Regionalliga and there with eight goals the team's most successful goalscorer in the 2010/11 season.

In order to be brought closer to professional football, he was loaned to third division club VfR Aalen in the following season . In the first few games of the season he was mainly used as a substitute before he missed some games due to injury. After his return, he was again with Stanislaus Bergheim and from the second half of the season with Cidimar in the competition for the place next to Robert Lechleiter, who was in the storm . After the end of the season in which VfR was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga , he came to 27 missions in which he scored three goals and prepared three more. The loan agreement between VfR and 1. FC Nürnberg was not extended.

Sauter then also left 1. FC Nürnberg; he moved to the 3rd division relegated Karlsruher SC . He signed a two-year contract with Baden. At the end of January 2013 he was loaned to the regional league team Wormatia Worms until the end of the 2012/13 season. In June 2013, his contract with Karlsruher SC was terminated.

Sauter then moved to the Regionalliga West for Rot-Weiss Essen , where he signed a two-year contract in June 2013. After only one year in Essen, Sauter returned to Arminia Ludwigshafen in his hometown .
