Volkan Ekici (born March 23, 1991 in Lünen ) is a German - Turkish soccer player . He plays for Hammer SpVg .

Career

Ekici was born as the son of Turkish immigrants in Lünen and began playing football here as a youth at Borussia Dortmund . In the summer of 2010 he switched to the traditional Turkish club Beşiktaş Istanbul as a professional player . Here he played the first season almost exclusively for the reserve team and only made his professional debut on the last game day in a first division encounter. He spent the 2011/12 season on loan with the second division club Kartalspor . Here he was used exclusively in the reserve team and reached the championship with this in the TFF A2 Ligi .

For the 2012/13 season he moved to the second division Göztepe Izmir . The decisive factor in the change was the fact that the former player legend Beşiktaşs, Ali Validiken , works as a manager at Göztepe and repeatedly receives players from Beşiktaş on favorable terms. As early as the winter break of the 2012/13 season, his contract was terminated by mutual agreement. Ekici returned to Germany in January 2013 and joined the regional reserve of Bundesliga club Fortuna Düsseldorf . In autumn 2013 he moved to the upper division SV Rödinghausen on a free transfer . In his first game for the new club, he was initially used in the second team, but after around 15 minutes of playing time he seriously injured his knee and was out the rest of the season. At the end of the season he left Rödinghausen and joined Lüner SV in his hometown . In the 2015/16 season Ekici made promotion to the Westphalia League with his Lüners before he left Lüner SV one season later in the direction of Hamm. There he joined the league club Hammer SpVg .
