1st league 2001/02

The 1st league 2002/03 was the 69th season of the highest Polish men's soccer division since it was founded in 1927. The season began on August 3, 2002 and ended on June 3, 2003 and a total of sixteen clubs took part in the 2002/03 season. After the season, the number of teams was reduced from 16 to 14 teams.

The defending champion was Legia Warsaw . Newcomers from the second Polish league were Lech Posen , Wisła Płock (rose under the name Orlen Płock in the previous season) and Szczakowianka Jaworzno .
