history
After its founding on April 30, 1922 , the club played for many decades in the lower leagues. In the mid-1990s, Zbigniew Drzymała, President of the automobile company "Inter Groclin", took over the presidency of the club and in 1997 helped it to rise to the top league, the Ekstraklasa, for the first time .
Dyskobolia Grodzisk had their first international appearance in the 2001 UEFA Intertoto Cup , where they failed in the first round against Spartak Varna .
2003 Dyskobolia Grodzisk was runner-up and then played in the 2003/04 UEFA Cup . After successes over Atlantas Klaipeda (2: 0, 4: 1), Hertha BSC (0: 0, 1: 0) and Manchester City (1: 1, 0: 0), the club reached the third round of the competition, where they were eliminated but against Girondins Bordeaux (0: 1, 1: 4).
In 2005 they became runner-up again and won the first title in the club's history, the Polish Cup . In the 2005/06 UEFA Cup , they lost 1: 1 and 2: 4 in the first round against RC Lens .
In 2007 Dyskobolia celebrated its second cup victory and was thus represented in the 2007/08 UEFA Cup . In the first qualifying round they could prevail against the Azerbaijani representative MKT Araz İmişli (0-0, 1-0). In the second qualifying round, Dyskobolia was able to prevail against the Kazakh team Tobyl Qostanai (1: 0, 2: 0). In the first main round of the 2007/08 UEFA Cup, Dyskobolia faced the top Serbian club Red Star Belgrade and were eliminated (0: 1, 0: 1). On July 11th, 2008 the owner and president of the association, Zbigniew Drzymała sold the association to the owner of Polonia Warsaw . The club from the capital took the place of Dyskobolia in the Ekstraklasa . At the same time a new club called Dyskobolia was founded, which started in the 4th Polish league in the 2008/09 season. The stadium in Ptaszkowo later became the club's home ground. The club initially played a few seasons in the sixth class Klasa okręgowa until it stopped playing in the 2015/16 season.
