Ivica Križanac (born April 13, 1979 in Split , SR Croatia , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a former Croatian football player. He played in central defense .

Career

At the age of 18, Križanac received his first professional contract in the Croatian first division with HNK Šibenik . Križanac only played seven games and therefore moved to NK Slaven Belupo in 1998 within the league. However, the Croat could not assert himself here either, just as little as in his next three stations: between 1999 and 2000 NK Varteks , in 2000 with the Czech first division club FK Jablonec and between 2000 and 2002 Sparta Prague . In 2002 he moved to the first Polish league to Górnik Zabrze and came to 13 missions and one goal in one year. In 2003 Križanac was committed by Groclin Grodzisk , where he was able to prevail for the first time. In 2005 he moved to Zenit St. Petersburg. At the Russian top club he celebrated his greatest successes, winning the Russian championship in 2007 and winning the 2007/2008 UEFA Cup , where he was also used in the final , which was won 2-0 against Glasgow Rangers . In August 2008 he was also appointed to the Croatian national team for the first time . From 2011 to 2014 he played for RNK Split and ended his active career there.
