Grzegorz Rasiak [ ˈgʒɛgɔʃ ˈraɕak ] (born January 12, 1979 in Szczecin , Poland ) is a former Polish football player.

Club career

Rasiak began his career in 1996 at Warta Posen , where he stayed for two years. He came to Dyskobolia Grodzisk in 2001 through GKS Bełchatów and Odra Wodzisław . There in the Greater Poland province he played successfully in the first division for three years and scored a total of 34 goals in 66 games. In 2004 he was bought by AC Siena , but because of the Italian foreigner regulation he could not be used and was sold to the second English division at Derby County . After a successful season he moved to Tottenham Hotspur , but could not prevail there and was loaned to Southampton FC in February 2006 . There he convinced, so that he was committed by this club for the next two years. On January 31, 2008, Rasiak was loaned to the Bolton Wanderers until the end of the season. Since Bolton did not exercise the purchase option included in the contract, Rasiak was loaned to Watford FC until the end of the season . In August 2009 he briefly returned to Southampton FC , only to be sold to Reading FC . In England , Grzegorz Rasiak played 15 games in the Premier League , 172 games in the Football League Championship (67 goals) and three games in Football League One . There were also several appearances in the FA Cup , League Cup and the UEFA Cup . Shortly after the start of the 2010/2011 season, Grzegorz Rasiak moved to AEL Limassol in Cyprus on a free transfer . He signed a two-year contract with AEL. After a year, however, he moved to Jagiellonia Białystok in his homeland . Since Grzegorz Rasiak could only have two goals in twelve league appearances in the 2011/12 season , the two-year contract was terminated by mutual agreement at the end of the season. At the end of June 2012, Rasiak signed for one year with the Polish first division club Lechia Gdańsk . For Lechia he played 13 times in the Ekstraklasa in the 2012/13 season and scored 4 goals. For the 2013/14 season, Rasiak moved back to Warta Posen, who had just been relegated to the third division. After 25 appearances and 14 goals, he ended his career a year later.

National team

Rasiak played 37 international matches for the Polish national football team between 2002 and 2007 , scoring eight goals. He also took part in the 2006 World Cup.

The 1.91 meter tall striker is married and has a son and a daughter.
