Agustín Peniche
Agustín Peniche Álvarez (born March 14, 1941 ), also known by the nickname Yuca after his origins from the Yucatán Peninsula , is a former Mexican football player in the position of a striker ( left winger ).
career
Peniche was under contract throughout his professional career from 1960 to 1968 at Club Necaxa , with whom he won the Mexican Cup competition and then the Supercup in the 1965/66 season.
"Yuca" Peniche played his only international game for the Mexican national soccer team in a World Cup qualifier against Paraguay on October 29, 1961 , which was won 1-0.
Peniche was only the second soccer player from Yucatán (after Carlos Iturralde ) to make his debut in the Mexican Primera División in 1960 and in the national team in 1961.
