history
Copa Tower (1907 / 08–1920 / 21)
The first cup tournament in Mexico was held in the 1907/08 season under the name Copa Tower . The first phase of the Mexican club cup was named after the British ambassador Reginald Thomas Tower (1860-1939), who came to Mexico in 1907 and donated the cup in the same year. At that time, only teams from the greater Mexico City area were eligible to participate - and so with the exception of the two-time winner Pachuca AC, all other winners came from the Mexican capital.

1: According to information from the world-renowned RSSSF website, the Copa Towers did not take place in the 1912/13 season. But there are also sources that credit Rovers FC with their 1912/13 cup win.
Copa Eliminatoria (1921 / 22–1931 / 32)
The Copa Eliminatoria , newly introduced in 1921/22 , was only played five times.

Copa México (amateur phase, 1932 / 33–1942)
A few years after the founding of the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) in 1927, it donated a new trophy before the start of the 1932/33 season, which was named Copa México . Only teams that played in the Primera Fuerza were eligible to participate .
