The Copa México 1963/64 was the 22nd staging of the soccer cup competition since the introduction of professional soccer in Mexico . The tournament was held following the league round of the 1963/64 season. For the first time in the history of the Mexican Cup competition , not only the teams of the Primera División , but also those of the Segunda División were eligible to participate.

The winner was the team from Club America , which won the cup competition as early as 1938 during the so-called amateur era and was also successful after the introduction of professional football in 1954 and 1955 when they won the finals against their arch rivals Chivas Guadalajara .

The encounters were played in the knockout system . Because of the participation of 30 teams, two teams (came in the first round Atlas and the later tournament winner América) by walkover on. All rounds except for the final, for which originally only one match was scheduled, were played in home and return games with one home right for the two opponents. The final venue was the Estadio Olímpico Universitario in Mexico City , where the required replay was played after the first encounter ended goalless.
