biography

society

Fragoso began his professional career in 1962 in the service of Club América , with whom he won the Copa México twice in a row (1964 and 1965) and the Mexican championship in 1966 . In 1970 he switched to CD Zacatepec , where he - after a stopover in Puebla (1972/73) - ended his active career in the 1973/74 season.

National team

El Chalo Fragoso participated in the 1964 Olympic football tournament in Tokyo.

Fragoso made his debut in the senior national team in a game against the Netherlands Antilles on April 1, 1965, which gave him a "debut made to measure". He came on for his striker Javier Valdivia at the beginning of the second half, when Mexico were 2-0 in front, and scored a flawless hat - trick between the 57th and 85th minutes to make el Tri 5-0.

Fragoso belonged to the squad of the Mexicans at the 1966 and 1970 World Cups , where he played the first round game against France at the 1966 World Cup and all four games at the 1970 World Cup in his own country. The quarter-final against Italy (1: 4) on June 14, 1970 was also his last of a total of 46 international matches in which Fragoso was used. His only goal at a World Cup, the 3-0 in the second preliminary round match of the 1970 World Cup against El Salvador (final score 4-0), was also his last international goal.
