final
The final was held on July 14, 1946 in Parque Asturias in Mexico City . It was a varied game in which Atlante was already in the lead after six minutes thanks to a goal from Argentine Mateo Nicolau . With two goals from his compatriot Norberto Pairoux in the 16th and 32nd minutes, Atlas went into the break with a 2-1 lead. Nicolau equalized in the second half with a goal in the 57th minute, before the Spaniard Martí Ventolrà gave Atlante another opening goal in the 74th minute. Atlas owed extra time to a penalty that was converted to 3: 3 shortly before the end, again by Pairoux . In this, Rafael Meza ensured the renewed lead in favor of Atlante after just four minutes. But the following goals by Antonio Flores (101st minute) and Rodrigo Solano (112th) gave the Rojinegros their first cup triumph.
