Copa México 1994/95
The Copa MX 1994/95 was the 39th edition of the football - cup competition since the introduction of professional football in Mexico .
The cup tournament was held between January 24th and March 15th, 1995. Eligible were all 19 teams in the same season in the top division were represented, and all 15 teams competing in the same season in the newly installed second division played. The other four participants played in the third-rate Segunda División and were composed of the team from the Universidad de Guadalajara , which at that time was playing under the name Bachilleres , whose withdrawal from the first division at the end of the 1993/94 season only resulted in the creation of the new Primera División 'A' (Mexico) made it possible for the Cruz Azul Hidalgo farm team , which won the Segunda División championship at the end of the same season and were promoted to the second division, as well as the Pioneros de Cancún and the Delfines de Xalapa . A total of 38 teams took part in the cup tournament. The draw for the first round was done in such a way that the lower class teams always had to compete with the first division clubs (i.e. there was no match between first division or lower class teams), with the lower class teams always having the home advantage in these matches.
The cup winners were the Club Necaxa team for the third time under professional conditions and for the sixth time .

The encounters were played in the knockout system . All encounters were decided in just one game.
First round
The first round of the cup was played between January 24 and 31, 1995. It was remarkable that all four participating teams from the third division were able to prevail against their opponents from the first division!

Second round
The second round of the cup was played on February 7th and 8th, 1995. The Bachilleres qualified as the only team in the third division for the third round.

Third round
The third round of the cup took place on February 14th and 15th, 1995. Here all four first division teams prevailed against the remaining lower-class teams, with the only remaining third division Bachilleres only having to admit defeat on penalties against Santos Laguna .

Quarter finals
The quarter-finals took place on February 28 and March 1, 1995. For the first time in this tournament, the "host" team did not enjoy home rights, but all matches were played on neutral grounds. The game between the Tiburones Rojos Veracruz and the Tecos de la UAG took place at the Estadio Sergio León Chávez in Irapuato and the game between Santos Laguna and Toros Neza at the Estadio Domingo Velázquez in San Francisco del Rincón .

Semifinals
The semi-final match between the two teams, which had already reached this round by bye, was played on February 15, 1995, the other match on March 8, 1995. Again there was no home right and the matches were on neutral ground in Mexico -City carried out. The match between the capital city clubs Necaxa and América took place in the Aztec stadium , which is also used as home ground by both clubs , and the match between Veracruz and Santos Laguna took place in the Estadio Azulgrana , the home ground of CF Atlante at the time .

The final was held on March 15, 1995 at the Estadio Cuauhtémoc in Puebla and decided by two goals from the national striker Ricardo Peláez in the service of Necaxa .
