Alberto García Aspe (born May 11, 1967 in Mexico City ) was one of the most famous Mexican football players of his time. His regular position was in midfield .

Life

In 1984 Alberto García Aspe started his career at UNAM Pumas , where he stayed until 1991. He then played for Club Necaxa , where he was under contract until 1995 and after a brief stint at CA River Plate until 1997. He then played for Club América between 1997 and 1999 and ended his active career with Puebla FC between 1999 and 2002 .

García Aspe made his debut in the dress of the Mexican national team on April 26, 1988 in a friendly against Honduras, which was won 4-1. His 127th and last international match took place on June 17, 2002 in the second round of the 2002 World Cup in the 2-0 defeat against the USA.

García Aspe was used at the soccer world championships in 1994 , 1998 and 2002 .

Alberto García Aspe currently works as a commentator for Televisa , a Mexican television station .
